Job Title: Joint Ventures Analyst  RQ-17- 56

TAQA North is currently seeking a Joint Venture Analyst. Reporting to the Manager, Joint Ventures, the Joint Venture Analyst provides analytical support to the Asset Team and Joint Venture Representative in activities relating to Joint Venture Operations.  This includes preparation of new and revisions to existing Joint Venture Agreements and providing investigative services to contractual, operational, budgetary, accounting and business issues relating to Joint Ventures. The successful candidate will be part of the larger Joint Ventures group, interfacing with the Asset Teams and working closely with the JV Representative, JV Administrator, Special Projects, Land Systems Coordinator, MasterData, Production Accounting, JV Accounting and external stakeholders

Job Description:

The Joint Venture Analyst’s responsibilities include:

  • Drafting, formalizing, and monitoring the status of Joint Venture Agreements (including CO&O, Unit & Unit Operating, Contract Operating, Processing & Handling)
  • Reviewing non-operated agreements and make recommendations for preferred terms
  • Preparing updates and revisions to Joint Venture Agreements as required
  • Assisting the Joint Venture Representative in monitoring the terms stated within Joint Venture related agreements for specific deadlines, budget requirements, capacity commitments, fee review, 13th month adjustments
  • Work with Joint Venture Administrator to ensure accuracy of all Joint Venture related files including the CS Explorer database
  • Work with and advise stakeholders in the research, investigation and resolution of joint venture related queries and joint venture billing (JVB) disputes
  • Assisting in the improvement of JV processes and procedures
  • Network with industry JV personnel to facilitate JV knowledge and career growth

Experience and Education:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of JV related experience in the handling of oil and gas related agreements, documentation, exhibit revision, Mail Ballots
  • Understanding of CO&O and Unit ownership change documentation procedures
  • Demonstrates initiative, innovation, teamwork as well as strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Effective follow-up and time management skills
  • General understanding of accounting, production operations and petroleum land concepts and issues
  • Proficient in CS* Explorer, Microsoft Office Suite and AFE Navigator, Access, Accumap, Petrinex, Enerlink, JIBLink and QBYTE
  • Petroleum Joint Venture Association (PJVA) Certificate is considered a major asset
