Job Description

Job Title: Foreman, RQ17-74

Location: Calgary, AB       

TAQA North is currently searching for a Foreman. Reporting to Operations Superintendent, the Foreman manages all aspects of the area office and related properties, maintains safe work practices and coordinates regular safety meetings with employees. The successful candidate will have a core focus on safety, revenue, cost and risk management and maintaining the integrity of the company through leadership, stakeholder engagement and employee relations.

As a part of this challenging role you will specifically be responsible for:

  • Provide leadership and direction for all operational activities and initatives  – ensuring projects and operations are delivered, optimized and maintained as required and in compliance with the company standards and needs
  • Ensure efficient and consistent human resource activities within the operation, including recruiting, selection, orientation, training, performance management and disciplinary action
  • Ensure safe practices are used by all employees in the area operations including compliance with all safety policies, procedures and applicable laws
  • Coordinate availability of required materials, equipment and tools to complete the assigned projects
  • Effective management of vendors and third party suppliers and contractors
  • Compliance as prescribed by TAQA and regulatory bodies
  • Implementing and correcting unsafe or non-compliant work practices within prescribed timelines
  • Work with engineering, drilling, maintenance teams and technical heads on required maintenance for equipment and facilities within the area and any other assigned area
  • Coordinate transportation of equipment and inventory to and from the field sites
  • Ensure all measurement activity is completed on time and to the required standard
  • Liaise with the engineering and Calgary project teams to coordinate required work and communicate work status to the stakeholders on a regular basis
  • Ensure resource is available for ongoing property reviews
  • Complete required documentation to head office in a timely and accurate manner
  • Schedule appropriate personnel for area projects
  • Forecast requirements and purchase materials and stock for the area activity to be supported
  • Provide payroll documentation as per payroll calendar outline
  • Identify incremental production or cost saving work for the  area
  • Treat all persons, internal and external, with respect, courtesy and integrity
  • Maintain internal and external stakeholder relations through an excellent attitude, good knowledge, efficient work practices and proper documentation
  • Identify, define and participate in continuous improvement efforts, including ongoing policy, procedure and process development
  • Identify training needs and assist in training others where qualified

The Successful Candidate will possess:

  • Minimum 10 years practical oil and gas field experience
  • Clear understanding of industry standards and disciplines
  • Ability to manage financial and people risk
  • Supervisory experience in a  field environment – minimum 5 years
  • Strong facilities, construction and pipeline technical knowledge and competent with latest industry trends
