Job Description

Job Title: Joint Venture Analyst  RQ18-71

TAQA North currently has an opening for the position of Joint Venture Analyst reporting to the Manager, Joint Ventures. The successful candidate will be part of a larger Joint Venture (JV) group and closely interfaces with the Asset Teams. The Joint Venture Analyst provides analytical support to the Asset Team and Joint Venture Representative in activities relating to Joint Operations, including preparation of new and revisions to existing Joint Venture Agreements.  The successful candidate will also provide investigative services to contractual, operational, budgetary, accounting and business issues relating to Joint ventures. 

As a part of this challenging role you will specifically be responsible for:

  • Drafting, formalizing, and monitoring the status of Joint Venture Agreements (including CO&O, Unit & Unit Operating, Contract Operating, Processing & Handling)
  • Reviewing non-operated agreements and making recommendations for preferred terms
  • Preparing updates and revisions to Joint Venture Agreements as required
  • Assisting the Joint Venture Representative in monitoring the terms stated within Joint Venture related agreements for specific deadlines, budget requirements, capacity commitments, fee review, 13th month adjustments
  • Working with Joint Venture Administrator to ensure accuracy of all Joint Venture related files including the CS Explorer database
  • Working with and advise stakeholders in the research, investigation and resolution of joint venture related queries and joint venture billing (JVB) disputes
  • Assisting in the improvement of JV processes and procedures
  • Networking with industry JV personal to facilitate JV knowledge and career growth 

The Successful Candidate will possess:

  • Minimum 5+ years of JV related experience in the handling of oil and gas related agreements, documentation, exhibit revision, Mail Ballots
  • Understanding of CO&O and Unit ownership change documentation procedures
  • Demonstrates initiative, innovation, teamwork as well as strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Effective follow-up and time management skills
  • General understanding of accounting, production operations and petroleum land concepts and issues
  • Proficient in CS* Explorer, Microsoft Office Suite and AFE Navigator, Accumap, Petrinex, Enerlink, and QBYTE Optix
  • Petroleum Joint Venture Association (PJVA) Certificate is a major asset
